kidlington & gosford leisure centre

cherwell

The existing Kidlington leisure centre and particularly the sports hall and school changing facilities were in desperate need of replacement. The alterations and refurbishment of this centre involved the demolition of the existing and the construction of a new sports hall at the “rear” of the existing building. A new creche and activity area has been created out of existing redundant changing areas and a new café/vending area has been created with visual links to the pool hall via a glazed screen. Externally, the front and sides of the existing building have been over-clad to visually link with the new sports hall at the rear. The large silver sign panel over the entrance creates a common corporate image shared between Kidlington, Banbury and Bicester leisure centres.
